“Individuals and interactions over processes and tools”

That’s the first value in the Agile Manifesto.

Honestly, how often do you check the values there and rethink the things you’re doing on a regular basis?

I get so busy with day-to-day responsibilities that I often forget to go back to these principles and review what I should be doing differently.

I understand that is natural to happen. But last week something happened that made me evaluate the importance to keep the principles in mind consistently.

At this point, you all know that I’m passionate about product discovery. I’m constantly studying and researching. Also, I often get caught up in creating different methods to find better ways to achieve discovery.

I’ve been working in an article that presents more of the perspective in performing day-to-day discovery in a more common scenario. But discovery is not about process.

Product Discovery is the art of finding answers.

With that, several methodologies and frameworks come along to simplify the work. Then you create a process in order to keep things more organized and easy to operate.

Having in mind that the most important thing is to discover answers to create something that people will love, buy, and share.

Whatever you decide to do or to use in your product discovery, the decisive point is if your product is generating value to individuals and causing more interactions with it.

If your company has a process established that you don’t completely agree, always try to get the best of it because any answer is worth it, and find additional channels respecting the limits in your company to get more insights that the product needs to succeed.

So take an approach that will bring you results.
